《Waste not collected by the City of Sapporo.》

【1】Television sets, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, air conditioners

4 kinds of home electrical appliances (CRT-based/liquid crystal/ plasma Televisions, refrigerators/freezers, laundry machines/clothes driers, air conditioners) cannot be collected by the city of Sapporo because those items became treated under Home Appliance Recycling Law and a recycling system by the route of private companies has established.

-For disposal of televisions, refrigerators, freezers, laundry machines, clothes driers, air conditioners, you need to ask a dealer to pick up those items or directly bring them to the sites designated by manufacturers.

《How to ask the special handler to pick up》

You will be charged both a recycling fee and a pick-up fee.

1. If you buy a new product, ask the shop where you buy a new product to pick up.

2. If you simply dispose of the product, ask the shop where you bought it before to pick up.

3. If you don't remember where you bought it or the shop is far away from where you live now, contact a .

*Please ask each cooperating dealer about the fees since conditions differ among dealers.

※Please confirm open hours and a recycling fee with each handler.

※You need to go to the post office to pay a recycling fee and a transfer fee in advance.

【2】Non-disposal items (other items which cannot be collected by the city of Sapporo)

For collection of personal computers, please contact the manufacturer. Items such as tires, batteries, pianos, fire extinguishers, motorcycles and automobiles cannot be disposed of by the city. For collection of these items, please inquire at stores or special collection agents.

【3】Waste in large quantities

It is the responsibility of the individual to transport large quantities of waste, such as an amount surpassing 400 liters generated during a move, to a city waste disposal facility or to ask the Sapporo Environmental Operations Public Corporation for assistance.
