FAQ Garbage/Waste disposal and Recycling　Part 1

《Rules for disposing of waste》

-Charged waste must be placed in the designated disposal bags.

-free-of-charge waste should be placed in transparent or semitransparent bags.

-Bags must be put out before 8:30 a.m. at the "gomi station" (collection point) on designated collection days, which vary by district.

《Waste collected regularly at collection points》

(1)Charged Burnable waste (moyaseru gomi):

Food waste, plastic products, dirty paper, cloths, cloth, leather, rubber & vinyl, and wood & wooden products are included in burnable waste, which is collected twice a week.

*Pressurized spray cans, Gas cartridge:

After using up the product, place them in a clear or semi-clear bag and dispose on the same day as the "Burnable waste". Do not dispose in the designated bags for charged waste. Do not puncture the containers.

(2)Charged Non-burnable waste (moyasenai gomi)：

Domestic appliances, metal products, brick blocks, glass, ceramics, fluorescent tubes etc., which are collected once every 4 weeks.

*Glass and ceramics and knives must be wrapped in thick paper and placed in a designated disposal bag separate from other non-burnable waste. The bag must be marked “キケン” (dangerous).

*Heat-not-burn cigarettes, electronic cigarettes and lighters

After using up the product, place it a clear or semi-clear bag and dispose on the same day as the "Non-burnable waste". Do not dispose in the designated bags for charged waste.

*Dry Batteries

Place the used batteries in a clear or semi-clear bag and dispose on the same day as the "Bottles, cans, and plastic bottles". Do not dispose in the designated bags for charged waste.
