FAQ Welfare allowance for people with disabilities Part1
There are various allowances for people with disabilities in the city of Sapporo. Please contact of each ward office.
*Before you apply for these welfare allowances, please be sure to understand what kind of allowance you are applying for in advance.
Necessary item;
-Handicapped person's handbook
-Medical Certificate (you can receive a form at the of each Ward Office)
-Other documents *It depends on the person's situation. Please ask in advance.
《Disabled child welfare allowance》
-Target：Those who are home-based child under 20 year of age with a high degree of disability as well as need constant care in daily life
-Monthly allowance：16,100yen (from April, 2025)
-Payment：4 times (February, May, August and November) in a year
-Note：If your income exceeds the limit, the payment will be stopped. The case of admission to a welfare facility is not covered.
《Special disability benefits》
Target：Those who are home-based over 20 years of age with remarkably severe disability as well as need constant and special care to daily life
-Monthly allowance：29,590 yen (from April, 2025)
-Payment：4 times (February, May, August and November) in a year
-Note：If your income exceeds the limit, the payment will be stopped. Those are in hospital over for 3 months or those are in a welfare facility are not covered.
《Special child-rearing allowance》
-Target：Those foster the child under 20 years of age with a high/middle degree of physical/mental disability.
-Monthly allowance：56,800yen for a Grade 1st disability(severely) ,37,830yen for a Grade 2nd disability(moderate) from April in 2025
-Payment：3 times (April, August and November)in a year
-Note：fosters that their children are in the welfare facility are not covered.If your income exceeds the limit, the payment will be stopped.
